Meet The Executives + Our Latest Efforts!

now that you have read about @redefycalifornia and it's endeavors regarding the act of  affecting change and redefining social norms/stigmas/stereotypes, it is important that we shift your focus towards our chapter executives!

Emma Valle

Co-Chapter Leader

Hi! I am a senior at Harvard-Westlake High School in California. I started this Redefy chapter because I wanted to create a supportive and empowering community willing to discuss and combat the injustice and social issues we encounter everyday. I am hoping this chapter will spread awareness and educate people on the various problems in our community and inspire people to take action. I wanted this group to focus on personal voices as well as large communities, which is reflected in the type of events our chapter creates.

Isabella Folchetti

Co-Chapter Leader

Hello, and welcome to our website! I am an upcoming senior in highschool. Posing as the co-chapter leader means that I am responsible for the underlying mechanics of the organization. I am thrilled to play such an honorable role in redefy california's branch, as it has always been imperative that current events and issues that may otherwise be swept under the rug are addressed just as promptly as the rest, and the stereotypes/stigmatic designations regarding incapabilities due to origin, ethnicity, and such in the like are touched upon in a manner that skews the narrative and “redefines” history.

Sofia Li

Creative Director of Events

Hi Everyone! My name is Sofia, and I am a senior at Harvard-Westlake High School in Los Angeles, California. My role as Creative Director of Events allows me to combine my creativity with my drive to face social issues head-on, making the world a more comfortable place for minority groups. By imagining, and alongside my fellow members, executing events, I hope to encourage young people to join in on changing the social narratives in America surrounding race, gender, and sexuality. As a Jewish Chinese-American woman, I hope to change the mindset of my peers, allowing them to focus on accomplishing social justice every day!

Donya Ghassemieh

Director of Social Media

Hi! My name is Donya Ghassemieh and I am a rising senior at Harvard-Westlake High School. I joined redefy to help spread awareness to the younger generation about realities of what goes on in our world. Through my position as Director of Social Media, I hope to use social media as a way to publicize the projects our chapter is working on as well as educate the community about the message behind them. It is crucial that we not only address but also combat unjust stereotypes, and I believe that through redefy, we can accomplish this.

             Our Latest

                Efforts

Kickstarting our path back into the school year, Chapter Leader Emma Valle,  Creative Director of Events Sofia Li, and Director of Operations Isabella Folchetti, hosted an in-person pre-registration/registration booth wherein every individual that (registered or pre-registered) to vote was granted a donut of their choosing! Pre-registration/registration was also open to students at Isabella's school (by email), so said students were able to fill out a form, and then access the link to registration! In total we were able to register around 90 people--from either school/community!
